IIT Delhi has produced 4 unicorn startups from the same college and the same batch of 2000. Albinder Dhinds founder of Blinkit (Grofers), Ashneer Grover ex founder of Bharat Pe, Deepender Goyal founder of Zomato, and Sachin Bansal founder of Flipkart.

Albindar is the founder of Blinkit previously known as Grofers, he was Born in Patiala, Dhindsa studied engineering at IIT Delhi, and passed out in the year 2000.

Blinkit is an instant delivery service in India that offers thousands of products, including groceries, fruits and vegetables, bakery items, meat, cosmetics, electronics, and more.

Blinkit currently operates in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Meerut, Mohali, Mumbai, Noida, Panchkula, Pune, Vadodara and Zirakpur.

Blinkit became a unicorn startup in August 2021 after raising $100 million from Zomato. on August 10, 2022, Zomato acquired Blinkit for $568 million, completing the acquisition.

Ashneer Grover:

Ashneer Grover is a previous Co-founder, MD of Bharat Pe, and angel investor. He was also a shark on Shark Tank India Season 1. He was a student at IIT Delhi and IIM from Ahmedabad.

Big Bang Food Tech, Freadom, The Whole Truth, PazCare, India Gold, Fello, Hire Quotient, Koo, Skippi Ice Pops, and Front Row are all startups funded by Ashneer Grover.

Deepinder Goyal:

Deepender Goyal is the co-founder and CEO of Zomato. Born in 1983 in Punjab, India. Goyal started Zomato in 2008, transforming it into a global food-tech giant. He holds a degree in Mathematics and Computing from IIT Delhi.

Goyal’s leadership has been crucial in Zomato’s expansion, offering services in numerous countries. Known for his entrepreneurial vision, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the food delivery industry.

Zomato founded in 2008 by Deepender Goyal and Pankaj Chadha, is an Indian multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery platform. Initially named FOODIEBAY, It began as an online restaurant discovery platform, providing users with menus, reviews, and ratings. Over the years, Zomato expanded globally, reaching numerous countries.

Zomato went through various funding rounds, attracting significant investments, and it eventually went public with an IPO in July 2021. Zomato Became a Unicorn Startup in February 2018.

Sachin Bansal:

Sachin Bansal born in Chandigarh on August 5, 1981, is an Indian Entrepreneur and founder of Flipkart. He completed his engineering at IIT Delhi in Computer engineering.

Sachin’s net worth is around $1.2 Billion as of today and ranked 2444 in the world. Sachin’s leadership made Flipkart a giant e-commerce company.
