FlixBus is a German-based travel tech company that will expand its operations in South India on September 3, 2024, connecting 33 more cities across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala.

FlixBus’s expansion into South India is a strategic move to strengthen its footprint in a developing country and densely populated cities with more bus travelers. The initial routes will connect several key cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Belagavi. With this expansion, the company aims to serve a total of 101 cities and 215 stops across India, providing travelers with more choices and convenience.

According to Indian Startup News, FlixBus promises a comfortable travel experience with its air-conditioned sleeper buses and emphasizes passenger safety by equipping its buses with advanced safety features like anti-lock braking systems (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and two-point seat belts for all passengers.

FlixBus has partnered with six local bus operators in South India to enhance its reach and operational efficiency. By leveraging FlixBus’s digital platform, these local partners can optimize their services, expand their customer base, and provide a consistent travel experience.
