Visionary Behind KPIT’s Rs 49,500 Crore Success 

Ravi Pandit, was born in modest Marathi family in Pune, he has completed his CA and a master’s degree from MIT Sloan School of Management in the United States.

Faced financial problems in his career, particularly with his education loan that was Rs. 1 Lakh annually and family earning was Rs. 15,000 monthly.

Worked hard for a year at Grant Thornton in Chicago to pay his entire loan, this experience gave him vision and goal for upcoming years.

Upon returning to India, Pandit joined his father’s firm, Kirtane and Pandit Chartered Accountants, further noticed gap in Indian market in IT sector.

In 1990, he established KPIT Infosystems with two colleagues, focusing on IT consulting rather than just traditional accounting.

Unlike big competitors which focused on offshore software development, Pandit planted KPIT Infosystems as a provider of on-site software development services.

In the dotcom boom of 1999, provided opportunity for IT sector to grow and under Pandit's leadership company grewed to a valuation of over Rs. 49,500 crores.
