In 2021, Rishab Gupta, a computer science engineer, and his brother Ayush started mushroom farming in Agra.
Rishab previously worked at Mashreq Bank in Dubai, returned home during covid 19 and started organic farming in their 3 acre of land in Shamsabad, Agra.
Ayush had just finished his BBA, they initially tried growing English cucumbers in a polyhouse and later shifted to mushroom farming for year round income.
Despite lacking knowledge, the brother started learning from international experts, and adopted environment using cold chambers.
They convinced their father after successfully trial in september 2021, and by April 2022 they expanded Button mushroom cultivation on one acre, setting up infrastructure required.
Presently, they harvest 1600 kg of mushroom daily, categorizing them into "A" grade (mature, well-shaped, well-trimmed) and "B" grade ((irregularly shaped, sold to food processing companies).
